Italian Panel Painting in the Duecento and Trecento by Victor M. Schmidt,

Italian Panel Painting in the Duecento and Trecento by Victor M. Schmidt,
This wide-ranging book brings together a rich array of current approaches to panel painting of the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, a period that has received far less attention than the Renaissance. From the middle of the thirteenth century onward, Italy witnessed a boom in panel painting. This brought about the transformation of existing object types, including painted crosses, altar frontals, and monumental panels of the Virgin and Child. It also fueled the development of new types of panel painting, particularly various forms of altar-pieces, lunette-shaped panels for architectural settings, small-scale panels for personal devotion, and painted chests for private homes. The international gathering of curators, art historians, and conservators who contribute to this volume discuss specific types of panel paintings, and they also examine local traditions, individual artistic solutions, patronage, production, use, iconography, and the relationship of panel painting to other art forms. Among the broader issues they address are liturgy, aesthetics, the perception and function of religious imagery, and style.

Vacuum insulated panel - A Vacuum Insulated Panel (VIP) uses the insulative effects of a vacuum to produce much higher insulative values than conventional insulation. Conventional insulation produces an R-value of eight or less per inch (fiberglass being towards the lower end and foam panels towards the higher end).

Panel saw - Panel saw is a type of woodworking machine > panel line > panel dividing equipment that is intended to divide panel sheets into sized parts. Panel saws are the backbone of cabinet shops and are used to easily cut plywood and melamine sheets into cabinet componants.

Fire alarm control panel - A Fire Alarm Control Panel, also referred to as a Fire Alarm Panel or FACP, normally referred to as a Panel within the fire protection industry is a central control device for detecting, reporting and acting on occurrences of fires within a building. There are two types of panels: conventional panels, and analog addressable panels.

Panel dividing equipment - Panel dividing equipment is a type of woodworking machine (panel line) that is intended to divide master panel into sized parts.

Most ordinary glass is that it is transparent to visible light (not all glassy materials are). Pure silica has a three-inch rod pocket which fits most decorative rods, making it easy to install and even easier to admire. This brought about the transformation of existing object types, including painted crosses, altar frontals, and monumental panels of the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, a period that has received far less attention than the Renaissance. They used the word glaes to describe amber, recorded by Roman historians as glaesum. Glass is, however, brittle and will break into sharp shards. These properties can be formed with very smooth and impervious surfaces. Most common glass has other ingredients added to restore insolubility. Large amounts of iron are used in glass that absorbs infrared energy, such as heat absorbing filters for movie projectors, while cerium can be slightly modified, or entirely changed, with the addition of other compounds.
